Our Hospital
San Juan Regional Medical Center is a 240-bed acute care hospital with a level III trauma center. In August 2006, an $83 million expansion was completed which added 72 new private patient rooms, most with fresh air balconies. The expansion also added 8 new operating suites, all with ceiling-mounted boom technology, a new public café, a healing garden, a well equipped staff/physician exercise room, and a new Central Sterile Processing facility. The older part of the facility is undergoing renovation, with all patient rooms being converted to private. Much of the renovation is completed, including the new staff-only café, and a spacious Cardiac and Pulmonary Gym.
Other Services and Facilities in the SJRMC Network
Free-Standing Physician Clinics: Urgent Care, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Neurodiagnostic, and Family Practice (in Bloomfield). Due to open in 2008 is a rural health clinic in Aztec, NM.
Rehabilitation Inpatient: San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is an 18 bed inpatient facility which is the only licensed, accredited, acute rehabilitation hospital in the Four Corners area.
Cancer Center: the San Juan Cancer Center, which has a new building under construction, has a radiation oncologist on staff and oncology certified nurses. A Medical Oncology practice is located on premises.
Outpatient Services: 2006/7 saw completion of a new off-site facility for lab and imaging diagnostic services and a new off-site Rehabilitation Outpatient Center. SJRMC also has an offsite Behavioral Health Clinic.
Connelly House: The San Juan Medical Foundation operates a low-cost residential facility for housing families of out-of-town patients (primarily cancer).
AirCare: SJRMC operates an accredited (CAMTS) medical flight program employing a helicopter and a fixed wing aircraft.
EMS: SJRMC operates an emergency room, trauma center and ambulance service with 5 substations.
Children's Discovery Place: a daycare facility for staff/physicians located a block from the hospital.
